Description
This three-movement work is similar in style and form to Fedak’s two very popular Sonatas for Worship. The opening movement is a bright trumpet rondo. The second movement is an achingly beautiful, expressive elegy. The finale is an introduction and toccata on the German chorale Weisse flaggen (“When the morning stars together.”) Exciting music for worship use (as individual movements) or as a recital work. Commissioned for the 90th anniversary celebration of the Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church, Baltimore, Md., E.M. Skinner pipe organ (opus 839). Below are recordings of the premiere, performed by Minister of Music, Michael Britt.

I. Trumpet Rondo

II. Elegy (in memory of Ernest M. Skinner)

III. Introduction and Toccata on WEISSE FLAGGEN
