Text
Everflow-ing streams of praise
earth and heav’n together raise:
countless creatures’ psalms and hymns
sing praise to God forever.
Through the world the song goes on
telling what the Lord has done:
deeds of mercy, truth, and love
sing praise to God forever.
Happy are all those who know
how to let God’s goodness show:
lives of mercy, faith and peace
sing praise to God forever.
All that curbs disorder’s force
anchors us in our true source:
those who claim their Maker’s art
sing praise to God forever.
Night and day in every place,
name with us this God of grace:
may our words and deeds enfleshed
sing praise to God forever.

Description
Fedak's setting of the hymn tune ROCKINGHAM for choir, violin, and organ (#425-350) has been justifiably popular; he returns to this accompaniment combination in this original setting of Carl P. Daw, Jr.'s text in celebration of music, which takes it inspiration from Amos 5:24 ("But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.") The flowing melody runs throughout the work and builds to a joyous climax with a leaping violin descant. (The violin part is optional and cued in the organ for times when the instrument is not available.) Written for the 125th anniversary of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Franklin, Va.; Rev. Edmund Pickup, rector; Jane R. Gibson, organist/choirmaster.
