Brian Wren
Brian Wren is the Conant Professor of Worship
at Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Georgia, and a Minister
of the United Reformed Church (Great Britain). His hymn-lyrics
are published internationally in hymnals of all Christian traditions.
Brian's other publications include What Language Shall I Borrow?--God-Talk
in Worship: A Male Response to Feminist Theology (Crossroad
Books, New York, 1989); Piece Together Praise--A Theological
Journey: Poems and Collected Hymns Thematically Arranged
(Hope Publishing Co., 1996), Praying Twice: The Music and
Words of Congregational Song (Westminster John Knox, 2000)
and two collections of worship songs in a more informal style,
with his marriage partner, Rev. Susan Heafield ("Hayfield").
Titled: We Can Be Messengers and Tell the Good News!,
they total 40 worship songs for intergenerational worship through
most of the Christian year (book or CD) and are obtainable through
Cokesbury or Hope Publishing Company.
