Jessica Nelson

Jessica Nelson (b. 1983) is a native Mississippian with degrees in music and liturgy from Millsaps College and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, as well as the Colleague Certificate from the American Guild of Organists. She has been organist/choirmaster of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral since 2017 and directed the Mississippi Conference on Church Music and Liturgy from 2014-2022. She has served on the Episcopal Church’s Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music and the board of the Association of Anglican Musicians. Jessica is the editor of Church Publishing, Inc.’s Ponder Anew: Conversations in 20th Century Church Music, (2022) a collection of essays, interviews, and sermons focused on the changing landscape of the Church and its music. Her other choral works are available from Paraclete Press and St. James Music Press.
