Stephanie Martin

Stephanie Martin's compositions are steeped in tradition, yet forward looking. Her opera Llandovery Castle (2018) concerns Canadian nurses killed in the First World War. Her oratorio The Sun, the Wind, and the Man with the Cloak (2019) sets Aesop's famous fable on the virtue of persuasion over force. Motets, anthems and masses are the foundation of her oeuvre. In Toronto, she is associate professor of music at York University's School of the Arts, Media, Performance and design. Visit her blog at www.stephaniemartinmusic.com
