Charles R. Beaudrot

Charles Beaudrot is a tax and corporate attorney and a composer. He was born in 1951 in Augusta, Georgia. He received his B.A. from Duke University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He studied choral music and performance under J. Benjamin Smith at Duke, and John Ferris at Harvard. Since 1977, Beaudrot has been closely associated with 2 of Atlanta's premier choral groups, the Choir of the Cathedral of St. Philip, and the Choral Guild of Atlanta. During this time he has composed over 40 works for chorus, organ and brass, and for chorus and chamber orchestra. Many of his works have been published, including "And Is It True?", published by Selah in 1996. Mr. Beaudrot has also produced 3 commercial CD recordings.

Trained as a singer, Beaudrot's works demonstrate great care for voice leading and make every effort to be "friendly" to the chorus and enjoyable to sing. In addition to choral works, which are his principal focus, he also writes for solo voice and various instrumental combinations.!
