John Arnn taught commercial / jazz piano and related courses in theory and improvisation at Belmont University's School of Music from 1981 until his retirement in 2007. In 1998 he took a six-month sabbatical, studying composition with English composer/arranger Bob Chilcott in London and Oxford. Published works (UNC Jazz Press, Fema Publications, Lorenz, Selah) include choral, instrumental, jazz choir, and solo piano collections. He maintains an active career as a composer, arranger, and performer in the Nashville area. His professional experience as a freelance keyboardist includes appearances with the Glenn Miller band under Ray McKinley, Ralph Marterie, and the Warren Covington Orchestra. He is an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Nashville, and actively supports Westminster's music program by performing, composing, and arranging for choral and handbell ensembles. His original children's musical "Our Man Sam," based I Samuel, was produced in 2008 at Westminster, and his latest musical for children, "And God Said" was presented in June, 2011.
