Kristina Arakelyan

Kristina Arakelyan (b. 1994) is an award-winning composer and pianist. Kristina trained at the Royal Academy of Music (BMus) and the University of Oxford (MA). Kristina's music has since been heard on BBC Radio 3, and in prestigious concert halls across the UK including the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, St John’s Smith Square and St Martin-in-the Fields, as well as in concert halls in the US, Mexico, France, Spain, Belgium, Croatia and her native Armenia.

Kristina's awards have included first prizes in the BBC Young Composers' Competition, the Royal Northern Composers' Competition and the NCEM Composers' Award. Her recent collaboration include the BBC Singers, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the ABRSM, the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain.

Kristina divides her time between performing, composing and teaching music theory and composition at the Junior Royal Academy of Music in London and leading theory seminars at King's College, London, where she is currently working towards a PhD in composition.
