Description
Robert McCormick originally improvised this piece, which was transcribed for practical performance use by Bryan Dunnewald. It is based on the African American spiritual McKEE usually paired with the text “In Christ There Is No East or West.” The main theme of the vigorous prelude is animated with syncopations. Intervening episodes with colorful harmonies provide opportunities for the use of characterful organ color. The fugue begins moderately and builds it way to full organ and a return of the original motive.
