Description
Joseph Plunkett's text celebrates the presence of God throughout everything in the natural world. The music is in a hymn-like modal style (reminiscent of early American hymnody), with the repetition of choral verses making it easy to learn. The flute and choir are heard antiphonally throughout. The flute part is very easy and could be played by an amateur or student musician.
Anthem text
I see his blood on the rose,
and in the glory
his body gleams amid snows
tears fall from the skies.
I see his face in the flower,
the thunder and the birds
are but his voice, and carven power
are his written words.
All pathways by are worn,
his strong heart stirs the sea,
his crown of thorns is twined
with thorn, cross is every tree.
