Anthem text
Take up the song,
and sing the praise of God
who gave the world
its mighty lands and seas,
then formed the fish
and creatures of the earth;
our God be praised
for wondrous gifts like these!

Take up the song,
and sing the praise of God,
who gave the power
of choice to humankind,
that we might rule
the earth through servanthood,
and so find joy
in all that God designed.

Take up the song,
and sing the praise of God;
proclaim to all
the open mystery
that Christ, whose death
destroyed the power of sin,
was raised by God
to reign in Trinity.

Take up the song,
and sing the praise of God;
with music make
both earth and heaven ring,
for God is good
and loves all he has made,
so now to him
all thanks and praises bring!

Description
This joyous anthem sets Rae E. Whitney’s text of praise to a sturdy and majestic original tune. The easy part-writing will make even a small choir (or one without much rehearsal time) sound impressive, and the optional brass parts can provide additional color for a festival occasion.
