Description
Phillips' Suite for Organ, Brass Quintet, and Percussion has been wildly successful and frequently performed by the best organists and brass quintets across the country. After performing and recording the Suite, the Air Force Academy Stellar Brass commissioned Craig Phillips to write another work for the same forces. Prelude & Exultation is the result, and performers will enjoy it just as much as his Suite. The piece begins Mysterioso e moderato with gorgeous Coplandesque but yet original harmonies, then moves into an exuberant, rhythmic, and playful Presto, utilizing brass and organ to their best effect. The instrumentalists will have fun performing this exciting work, and it is the perfect new piece to perform with brass and timpani at any festive occasion. Length is a little over 9 minutes.
