Description
This warmly satisfying a cappella communion motet is cast in a serious contemporary idiom, but its restrained dissonances are carefully controlled and voiced to keep the work within the reach of practically any four-part choir. The anthem's Latin text is by St. Thomas Aquinas: an English translation is provided for inclusion in printed programs and church bulletins.

Anthem text
O sacrum convivium,
in quo Christus sumitur recolitur
memoria pasionis ejus.
Mens impletur gratia
et futurae gloriae nobis pignus datur.

--Thomas Aquinas

Translation
O sacred banquet
at which Christ is received
the memory of his passion is renewed,
our souls are filled with grace,
and a pledge of future is given to us.
