David A. Gerig

David Gerig is the Director of the School of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Eastern New Mexico University, where he received the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching. Previous positions as music teacher included assignments at the American School in Kuwait, public schools in South Dakota, and at Hesston College in Hesston, Kansas. He is a member of ACDA and the Fellowship of United Methodists in Worship, Music and Other Arts. He has had several anthems published since 1972, including More Lovely Than the Rose, published by Selah in 1996.

Gerig was born in Wooster, Ohio in 1948. He received a B.A. in music education from Goshen College, in Indiana, a M.M. in choral conducting from University of Iowa, and a D.M.A. in choral music from the University of Illinois. He lives in Portales, N.M.
