Anthem text
Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun. And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory. (Psalm 72)
Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
(Isaiah 6:3)
We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory.
(2 Corinthians 3: 18)
Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
Surely God’s salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
(Psalm 85)
Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
(Isaiah 6:3)
God your glory fills the earth,
with a shining like the sun,
brighter than the eye can bear,
known by what it shows to us.
Sin has no gleam in your light;
faith and hope and love are bright.
God whose glory fills the earth,
may the church that you have made patch and mend, with threads of gold,
fabrics that are dull and frayed.
Gold has no light of its own;
so we shine, by you alone.
Scripture from Psalms 72 and 85, Isaiah 6:3, and 2 Corinthians 3:18, compiled by Richard Leach, with his text, “God your glory fills the earth.”
