Three Preludes

Reviews
"Thomas Bohlert's 'Three Preludes for Christmas' provides fresh settings of three favorite Christmas carols. The first is a quiet setting of 'What Is This Lovely Fragrance' with the melody presented in the pedal. 'Farewell of the Magi-Paraphrase on "Kings of Orient"' is a good playable settings of this tune with some wonderfully flowing elaborations on the original melody. The 'Scherzo on "God Rest Ye Merry"' is a delightful, sprightly arrangement which is tricky when played up to tempo, but it will be well worth the effort and is sure to be a favorite of your congregation." -Sacred Music News & Review, October 1998

"The pieces contained in this little collection present three contrasting moods: the lovely, flowing prelude on "What Is This Lovely Fragrance?"; a meditative setting of "We Three Kings of Orient Are"; and a clever scherzo on "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen."" -Pastoral Music, October/November 1999
