Review
"Robert J. Powell, in Praise the Lord from the heavens, for unison voices and keyboard, supplies his own text based on Ps. 148; this should have an immediate appeal for children."-Bulletin of The Hymn Society of Great Britain and Ireland, April 1996

Description This piece was commissioned for a Choristers Guild Festival and is a cheerful anthem of praise. Children won't forget it either, after singing about the "dragons and all deeps."

Text
Praise the Lord!
O praise him from the heavens,
praise him all you angels of his,
praise his holy name.
Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, stars and light,
praise him from the heavens;
let them praise the name of the Lord!

Praise the Lord from the earth,
dragons and all deeps;
fire and hail, snow and frost,
wind and storm fulfill his word.
Mountains and all hills,
fruitful trees and cedars,
and let all the people,
let all the people praise the Lord.
Let them praise the name of the Lord.
Praise the Lord!

Adapt. from Psalm 148 by Robert J. Powell.
