Description
A new edition of Opus 51, no. 3, of Mendelssohn. This powerful work has been described as "among Mendelssohn's best-loved church music," but is little know today (we hope this edition changes that). This piece includes a middle section for soloists or sem-chorus (SSAATTBB). May be performed in German or English.

Text
Shout to the Lord all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness,
worship the Lord with gladness.
Come to his presence with a joyful song.

Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
He has made us all, not we ourselves.
We are his flock and the sheep of all his pastures.

Come to his court singing, and praising.
Enter into his gates with praise.
Give him thanks, give your praise to his name.

For the Lord is gracious,
and sheds his mercy on us ever,
and sheds his mercy evermore.

danket ihm, danket ihm, lobet seinen Namen.

Denn der herr ist freundlich
und seine Gnade währet ewig,
und seine Wahrheit für,
und seine Wahrheit für and für.

Psalm 100; English translation by Leonard Van Camp.
