Anthem text
Rabbi, weave your net of words--
abide, commandment, love;
intertwining, tying words--
abide, commandment, love, abide,
commandment, servant, friends, abide--
you weave a net, you weave.

Rabbi, cast your net of words:
abide, commandment, love;
drawing us to you with words--
abide, commandment, love, abide,
commandment, servant, friends, abide--
you bind, you set us free.

Description
Richard Leach’s text uses imagery from the world of Jesus’ fishermen disciples to discuss the Savior’s teaching and message of love. Alice Parker’s haunting musical setting combines the voices together independently in a representation of the “intertwining, tying words.” The accompaniment features drones and flowing lines that support the choral texture.
